Clowning in Rælingen

Today I was at a small pentecostal church in Rælingen, just outside of Oslo. Rælingen is a small place peoplewise. If you drive by, you just see some farms and a few houses. Still the pentecostal church there gather a lot of children two times a year, having "Barnas Dag" (Childrens Day). They do a lot for the children at these days. Since there was snow this time, they had all kinds of outdoor activities, including snow scooter rides. Inside people had the possibility to warm themselves, fetch something to eat and drink and to get a balloon from the clown (me). They also had sessions inside with worship and drama. We even had a competition who of the children would make the greatest looking balloon figure. Some kids really took of. The girl who won wouldn't stop learning more, long after the competition was finished. Pretty fun :D

What I really like about this gathering is that it has a broad appeal in the neighbourhood. It's not just for the "christians". It's an arrangement where a lot of people from the area bring their children. Just so it is said: This church has good stuff going for the children the rest of the year also.
